Discover Global Markets: The Blue Economy
Discover Global Markets: The Blue Economy
Under president Biden, the focus on a sustainable ocean policy has increased significantly. The American government is strongly committed to offshore renewable energy, sustainable aquaculture, coastal restoration and international commitments.
From 20 to 22 September, the United States Department of Commerce is organising the matchmaking event Discover Global Markets: The Blue Economy. This event will take place in Providence, Rhode Island, in the immediate vicinity of the first offshore wind farm in the US.
During this exclusive 3-day event, you will be able to connect with local American companies in the blue economy and lay the foundation for the (further) roll-out of your activities in the US. The focus is on sustainable energy, port technology and services, commercial marine sectors, underwater robotics, and ocean technology.
Added value
This event is of interest to several Belgian companies and other organisations:
- Large companies active in offshore wind can connect with local American companies to expand their database with suppliers from the US;
- Small companies can find local partners to form alliances to enter the American market;
- Ports can connect with innovative SMEs interested in starting activities in Europe (cf. Plug Power Inc. in Antwerp); and
- Research institutions can connect with their American counterparts.
Practical information
This exclusive three-day event is free of charge for all Belgian companies and organisations in the blue economy.
Any travel and accommodation costs, however, are at their own expense. Quick deciders do have a chance to win a free night in a hotel.
